The Collegiate/Wesley Committee on Nominations is trying to complete its work of finding persons interested in serving on one of the administrative and program groups of the church.  If you might be interested in serving on one of these groups for a three-year term (1/1/14 – 12/31/16) please contact Scott Grotewold (scott@cwames.org) or Tim Gossett (tim@cwames.org) ASAP.

At-large member of the Church Council: representing the congregation on the chief administrative body of the church; meets for up to 2 hours on Monday evenings about 8-9 times a year.

Member, Board of Trustees/Property Committee: group of 24 persons responsible for administration and accomplishing projects large and small for the main church building and grounds, Wesley Place and the two church-owned parsonages; meets monthly for up to 2 hours on 2nd Thursday.

Member, Committee on Nominations and Leadership Development: seeks persons to fill committee vacancies; encourage, lead leadership development opportunities; meets bi-weekly during October and November, 1-2 times during other 10 months.

Member, Committee on Staff-Parish Relations: deals with personnel matters of the church – staff hiring, evaluation, appreciation; meets monthly about 10 times per year plus occasional other meetings, depending on responsibility

Member, Finance Committee: meets monthly for oversight of financial operations and reports; committee is responsible for annual general budget stewardship campaign

Member, Reaching and Receiving Program Cluster: cluster develops and encourages those ministries that have to do with reaching persons in the community, welcoming them into the church, and building church fellowship opportunities; meets 8-9 times per year

Member, Worship Ministries Cluster: cluster develops and encourages those ministries having to do with the worship life of the congregation, including worship, music, technology, worship space décor, etc.; meets 8-9 times per year

Member, Education Ministries Cluster: cluster develops and encourages those ministries having to do with the education and spiritual growth of the congregation, including Church School, small-group studies, and opportunities outside the church walls; meets 8-9 times per year

Member, Sending to Serve Cluster: cluster develops and encourages those ministries having to do with missions and social justice, including liaison responsibilities with a number of community and area service agencies; meets 8-8 times per year

Member, Congregational Care Cluster: cluster develops and encourages those ministries serving special needs groups in our congregation, e.g., new parents, the homebound, and differently-abled persons; meets 8-9 times per year

Member, Wesley Foundation Board: there are several places for Collegiate UMC laypersons on the board that helps to develop programs with the UM campus ministry at ISU.
