Christmas Eve Services

We invite you to join us on Christmas eve, Dec. 24th, for one of our four worship services:

A Christmas Family Celebration

3:00 & 4:30 p.m. • Annex Auditorium (130 South Sheldon)
Rev. Jim Shirbroun, officiating
Special Music: Krystal Bells

This interactive, kid-friendly, casual service is fun and meaningful for the whole family. It’s relaxed, interactive, and definitely not your typical worship experience. Our theme this year is “The Shapes of Christmas.” Invite your friends to check it out too!

A Service of Carols & Candlelight

7:00 p.m. • CUMC/WF Sanctuary
Rev. Kay Hooper, preacher

This worship service includes a blend of traditional carols and contemporary Christmas songs. The service ends with the candlelight singing of “Silent Night.”

Candlelight Communion Service

11:00 p.m. • CUMC/WF Sanctuary
Rev. Anna Blaedel, preacher

This worship service includes many traditional Christmas hymns, Holy Communion, and the candlelight singing of “Silent Night.”

Christmas Day & New Year’s Services

On both Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, we will have just 1 service at 9:30 AM. Sunday school will take a break, but we will have fellowship time following worship.

Our Christmas worship will feature a Las Posadas (shelter) experience that draws upon Mexican custom and practice. It is a highly communal and participatory liturgy. Dramatic and contemporary, it engages worshippers in an imaginative and biblical recollection of the story of God coming into the world and of the holy family’s search for a place for Jesus to be born. There will even be a piñata!

On New Year’s Day, bring calendars, watches, tablets, planners or anything else that helps you to keep time. We’ll be having a “Blessing of the Timepieces” to kick off the new year.
