Come learn more about Ash Wednesday and celebrate the beginning of the season of Lent. Whether you’re at church every week or have never set foot in one, you’re invited to come and be part of our inclusive, welcoming, diverse community.
Ash Wednesday is an invitation to begin a season of reflection, renewal and growth. It reminds us that we are more alike than different and deeply connected to each other.
The Wesley Center will be out on the ISU campus on February 14th offering ashes (glitter* and non-glitter) to all. Catch us wandering around campus and follow us on instagram (isu_wesley) for out latest location.
The Wesley Center is also hosting an Ash Wednesday Service at 9 p.m. in the Annex Auditorium (130 S. Sheldon). This will be an interactive, multi sensory service where we will have opportunities to intentionally reflect on our lives, claim our sacred unique identities, set intentions for Lent, receive ashes and offer support to each other on our journey. ALL are invited.
*Glitter and non-glitter ashes will be offered at all of our Ash Wednesday event. Glitter ashes are our way of explicitly including those in the LGBTQIA community who have historical not been welcomed or included in the church. For more info about the Glitter+Ashes movement, check out THIS out.
